Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 15, 2026

Aurora (“the App”) is an iOS application. Your privacy is important to us, and we want to be transparent about our practices.

Your games, save files, screenshots, and settings stay local to your device or in your personal iCloud account. Aurora does not collect analytics, does not track your gameplay, and does not contain any third-party advertising. You do not need an account to use the App. The one exception is in-game text: it only ever leaves your device through the optional online translation feature described below, and only after you turn it on and agree to it.

Aurora Link multiplayer is entirely optional. Connecting to the Aurora Realm server is opt-in: the App asks for your explicit consent before the first connection, and nothing is sent to the server unless you agree.

When you connect to the Realm server, it receives:

  • Your Game Center identity — used to sign you in
  • Your display name — shown to other players
  • The name of the compatible Link Play game you’re playing — used to pair you with players of the same game

The name of the game you’re playing is only shared while you’re connected to the Realm server or a player host, and only for Link Play–compatible games. Any other game you play — and anything you play while disconnected — stays anonymous and is never reported.

While you’re in a realm, your chat messages and gameplay data (player position, trades, and battles) are relayed to the other players in the same realm — that’s what makes multiplayer work. This data is not used for advertising or analytics.

You can disconnect at any time. Your games and saves are never uploaded to the Realm server.

Aurora’s auto-translation can run entirely on your device using Apple’s translator, which sends nothing to anyone. Translating through an online provider instead — Google Translate or DeepL — is entirely optional and opt-in: the App asks for your explicit consent before the first request, and nothing is sent unless you agree.

When you enable an online provider, it receives:

  • The in-game text being translated — the dialogue and on-screen text Aurora is translating for you
  • Recent dialogue lines, with DeepL only — sent as context so a line reads correctly in the conversation around it
  • Your own DeepL API key, with DeepL only — used to authenticate the request; the key is stored securely on your device

Translations are cached on your device, so a line you have already seen is not sent again. No account, analytics, or identifying information is attached to these requests, and we never receive or store the text you translate.

Text sent to an online provider is handled under that provider’s own policy — see Google’s privacy policy and DeepL’s privacy policy.

You can switch providers, return to on-device translation, or turn translation off entirely at any time.

If a game crashes, or you choose to share a log from the App, you can send an error report to us. Reports are only ever sent when you explicitly submit one, and require a Game Center sign-in (this deters abuse of the report service). A report contains:

  • The App’s technical log for that session, and the name of the game being played
  • The App version, your device model (e.g. “iPhone”), and iOS version
  • Your Game Center identity, used to authenticate the submission

Reports are used solely to diagnose and fix problems — never for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

When iCloud save storage is enabled, save files are stored in your personal iCloud account. Aurora also syncs your App settings — such as control profiles and button mappings — through your personal iCloud account so they follow you across your devices. This data is managed by Apple’s iCloud infrastructure, is never visible to us, and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy.

If our practices ever change, we will update this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
